Forklift Train-the-Trainer | 4/2

April 2, 2025
09:00 am - 03:30 pm Pacific Time

Virtual Class

Number of Seats Available: 25

Regardless of previous experience, all forklift operators must receive training on the organization's powered industrial truck (PIT) program. However, designing a training program that is compliant, practical, and engaging can be a challenging task. Trainers must create a program that adheres to safety regulations and considers workplace hazards, unique equipment and tasks, and varying operator abilities.

This course teaches participants how to develop an effective and organization-specific PIT program that complies with federal and Washington state safety regulations. Upon class completion, participants will be able to:

  • Inventory their organization's PIT equipment and tasks
  • Identify workplace hazards that need to be included in training
  • Create a training presentation and tools that are specific to their organization
  • Design site-specific operator driving courses
  • Implement PIT program requirements, such as equipment inspections
  • Evaluate and certify new and experienced PIT operators
  • Adjust the program as needed to meet workplace demands

Course participants will receive a complete training program bundle that includes customizable training materials, PowerPoint templates, sample checklists, Operator Certification cards, and an operator training video. The video is provided on a USB, although a DVD format is available upon request.

Please note that this class does not involve forklift operation. However, it will help PIT trainers design the skills component of their organization's in-house operator training to meet Washington regulations.

Our live, instructor-led classes are designed for, and rely on, active participation to ensure a quality learning experience. Because of this, these sessions will not be paused and will not be recorded for future use or reference.
