Course Description

Managing a union workforce doesn’t mean giving up control—it means knowing how to strategically use the tools you already have. Many employers underestimate the rights and flexibility they still have under a union contract.

This training helps managers and executives confidently navigate union environments by understanding what management can do, not just what it can’t. It covers key rights under labor law and union contracts and gives practical strategies for managing union employees effectively, staying compliant, and building strong labor relationships.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe labor law as it relates to union vs. non-union employees
  • Interpret standard labor contract language, including just cause, seniority, and grievance processes
  • Identify best practices for maintaining positive working relationships with union officials and union employees
