Course Description

Unfortunately, workplace violence and “active shooter” situations are becoming more and more of a concern for employers. Equally as concerning, the general public is subject to a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding concerning active shooter situations and what to do if you find yourself in the vicinity of such an attack. 

Specifically created for employers and their teams, Active Shooter Preparedness and Response for Employers explores the dynamics of typical active shooter situations and discusses current best practices for preparation and response to such incidents. The course examines data compiled from over 230 events to gain a better understanding of the who, what, and how of active shooter incidents and workplace violence. 

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize and correct misconceptions about the nature of Active Shooter events. 
  • Develop emergency action plans consistent with current best practices. 
  • Conduct effective employee training in response to Active Shooter events. 
  • Recognize indicators of potential workplace violence.
